Make a freelancer link-in-bio page work like a small portfolio

Turn a freelancer's link-in-bio page into a small portfolio that shows relevant work, defines the offer and invites a useful enquiry.

A freelancer's page should help a potential client answer three questions quickly: do you do the work I need, have you done something comparable, and what happens if I contact you? A wall of social links answers none of them. A compact portfolio can.

Position the work

Name the service and the kind of client it serves.

Use a short opening such as 'Brand photography for independent restaurants in Manchester' rather than a list of every skill you can offer. Specificity helps the right visitor recognize a fit and gives search systems visible context.

If you serve several unrelated audiences, choose the one this page should address first and link to a deeper portfolio for the rest. Do not claim a specialty that your examples cannot support.

Select proof

Show two or three relevant projects with a role and result.

A project card can say what the client needed, what you delivered and where to inspect the finished work. Avoid a gallery that requires visitors to infer your contribution from images alone.

Get permission before using client work or testimonials. When you cannot show the result publicly, explain the type of work and the process without revealing private details.

Define the next step

Give enquiries a useful starting point.

Say whether you offer a defined package, a discovery call or a custom quote. A clear contact label can ask for the project type, timeframe and budget range if those are genuinely needed to respond.

Keep the booking or contact route close to the proof. If the visitor must leave for a separate site, make the destination and expected next step explicit.

Keep it credible

Review availability, links and current examples.

A beautiful portfolio with a broken enquiry form or projects from a previous role creates avoidable doubt. Test the public route after changing an external portfolio, calendar or email address.

Replace examples when your work changes, and keep enough older material to show depth without burying the service you now want to sell.
